COLLECTIONS
The Salo Art Museum´s managed collection includes approximately 2400 works of art. This collection is supplemented by purchases, donations and deposits. A collection policy guides the collection work of the museum.
The largest deposit collection is the Artist Viljo Hurme Foundation collection. It includes the works of Viljo Hurme as well as new acquisitions -mainly of young contemporary artists – made by the Foundation.
Over 50% of the art collections can be seen in public places like schools or city offices. Art is to cheer up and enliven the environment and to provide a pleasurable and aesthetic experience for people engaged in business and work.
